For Everything Tankwa and Beyond
Why Tankwa?
” On the first part of the journey I was looking at all the life.
America (Lyrics of A Horse with no name)
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings”
These lyrics describes what you see and experience the first time you visit the Tankwa. It is an experience to savour slowly. You breathe it in and taste the atmosphere.
You could rush through the Tankwa, as many do, but that would be lessen your experience. Much of what you’ve come to see and feel is only seen when you reduce the haste. Tankwa is a slow-paced world.
Things here have their own rhythm, join us as we try and share our love for this strange place, which offers so much in its vast nothingness.
The Tankwa is a vast area of nothingness, yet in this nothingness is everything you could possibly need to find yourself.
The Tankwa lies North of Ceres, East of the Cederberg, South of Calvinia & West of Sutherland.
Getting here is simple. Tankwa is in the middle of everything. From Cape Town drive to Ceres via the R46 and keep going until you reach the R355. From Gauteng drive south on the N1, turn right to Sutherland, follow the R354 from there. From Namibia or anywhere up North drive to Calvinia and follow the R355 South.
